Dr. Matthew Yuen was raised in Alameda, California, in a close-knit family with three siblings. An avid athlete growing up, he once dreamed of playing professional baseball. While sports didn’t become his career, his passion for health and helping others led him to pursue dentistry. He studied Exercise Biology at UC Davis with a minor in Technology Management, then gained clinical experience in dental offices before attending the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He completed his D.D.S. degree along with a General Practice Residency at the McClellan VA Hospital, where he served veterans with advanced, comprehensive dental care.

Dr. Yuen is deeply committed to lifelong learning and patient-centered dentistry. He has completed hundreds of hours in advanced training, including implant dentistry, restorative procedures, and patient comfort techniques. He has taught anatomy and dental techniques at both UC Davis and in dental school, and continues to volunteer his time for community events and international dental mission trips. Known for his gentle chairside manner and personalized care, Dr. Yuen focuses on building trust with every patient and making their dental experience positive from start to finish.

Outside the office, Dr. Yuen enjoys barbecuing, reading, and spending time with his wife. A big fan of Disney, the outdoors, and classic films, he also plays tennis and is always up for an adventure. Whether relaxing at home with a book or exploring places like Zion National Park or Monterey Bay, Dr. Yuen brings curiosity and joy into every part of life—including the way he cares for his patients.
